Prometheus is opening on Friday, and it’s not part of the Alien series. The sci-fi epic just has the same director as Alien, and some of the same iconic characters, and the astronauts are working for the same corporation as all the doomed characters in the Alien movies. Glad that’s settled. It’s still probably a good idea to catch up on your Alien mythology before going out to see Prometheus. We all know Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley through Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, and Alien: Resurrection. You’re probably also caught up with how the big Aliens sometimes let people live long enough that baby Aliens will burst out of their victims’ bodies.
