Ten Parodies of Edvard Munch’s “The Scream” That We’d Rather Own for $120 Million

Goth girls are rejoicing as their favorite childhood poster was just declared to be worth $120 million. Well, Edvard Munch’s “The Scream” actually just sold for a mere $119.9 million dollars. Somebody got lowballed. This still sets the record for the most expensive artwork ever sold at auction. Nobody even cares that Munch had actually hacked out four different version of his classic painting. We have to respect the pop-culture impact, though. “The Scream” has inspired plenty of classic imagery–ranging from the poster art to the film of Pink Floyd’s The Wall to Macaulay Culkin being terrorized in Home Alone. There was also a little movie called Scream.
