“The Konami Code is Geek.” Truer words have never been spoken. If you grew up in the ’90s, then you’re probably aware of a little video game company called Konami. They’re responsible for making Battletoads, Contra, and more. In most games made by Konami after 1986, they made sure to include a code you could put in which would give you all sorts of power-ups. All the gamer had to do was enter Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A. Since its inception, the code has a definitive cult following–and has even snuck onto a few websites. They don’t give you more lives or bullets in real life, but they do reveal some occasional functionality. Check out some of the more unique examples below, and find the rest at Konami Code Sites.
