As far as big festivals and concerts are concerned, there are few names bigger than Lollapalooza (August 3-5). Perhaps the best example of its importance to the music world was revealed last night as the official 2012 lineup was released: Black Sabbath will be performing. While Ozzy’s band was originally supposed to play at Coachella, they had to back out when one of the bandmates learned he had lymphoma. Now that he’s done with chemotherapy, though, the band reached out to Perry Ferrell (lead singer of Jane’s Addiction and producer of Lollapalooza) and asked to play. Sounds like an offer no one should refuse.

While a lot of the buzz is focused on Sabbath’s only performance in North America, there are countless other musicians who are a must-see. Just glancing at the bill, what rock fan wouldn’t want to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Black Keys, Sigur Ros, and Jack White all at the same concert? If you’re a fan of computer music like me, you’ll have to agree that there’s more womp than you can shake a glowstick at with the likes of Avicii, Bassnectar (new album here), Justice, and Calvin Harris.
