11 Ways To Make The Oscars More Watchable

Many are calling the 84th Annual Academy Awards show the worst in history. Of course, this kind of negative feedback happens every year, but this one might just be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. One friend decided to watch Back to the Future, another encouraged me to order Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on demand. Between it and the NBA All-Star Game, it became a battle of which show could bore the audience less. The awards are meant to recognize the fine achievements of the past year, but in the process of patting each other on the back, they’ve become so insular and self-aggrandizing that they forgot the people that matter most – the movie-going public. Granted, a true artist sticks to his vision no matter what, but come on, you’re entertainers, it’s your job to stimulate our most basic emotions. I don’t think anyone could’ve said that after last night’s show. So, I thought I’d provide an abridged list of suggestions for overhauling the ceremony. Add your own in the comments.

This pic pretty much sums it up…
