Comedian Nick DiPaolo posted on his Twitter page that his good friend Greg Giraldo has died after being hospitalized in New Jersey following an overdose of pills last week. DiPaolo said, “Our buddy Giraldo left us today. Please say a prayer for him and his family.” If the news is true we will certainly have to add Giraldo to our list of The 9 Funniest Comedians to Die in Their Prime.

Update: Comedian Jim Norton confirmed the news via his Twitter.

We lost a Funny Man today. Loved his style of humor. True,on the spot jokes with a humble edge. My condolences to his family

Greg was one of the great comedians of our time. I live in Kansas City and would always watch his specials and comedy roasts. He left us way to early, my thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.

that guy wasn't funny. i fucking hate when people think someone is great because they're dead. if the peak of his career where roasts of pam anderson then the rest must really be shit. like real shit.
