Switch Multitool: The Swiss Army Knife of 2010

You’re all probably familiar with the idea of a Swiss army knife.  Most everybody already knows about this incredible all-in-one tool, but the problem with it is that it’s never really been updated for the modern era.  After all, we’ve come a long way from the days of using the Swiss Army knife to scale a fish in the wild. The Switch Multitool has all the conveniences of the Swiss Army knife (and more!) without all the unnecessary parts…like the leather punch.

The Switch Multitool packs in plenty of hardware that tech nerds everywhere will bless it for.  It’s got tiny screwdrivers geared toward computer screws, pliers, and really wildly unexpected stuff like a one gig USB drive and LED flashlight. We can only hope that the later versions will offer automatic Facebook status updates and tweeting capabilities.

The best part is, the Switch Multitool is fully modular, and thus you can choose what tools you want to have on the device at any given time.  If space is at a premium, pick the stuff you need.  If you don’t know what you’ll need, then load the thing out fully.  It’s got all the variety you’ll need for just about any task.

What’s the catch? The Switch Multitool isn’t cheap — you’ll shell out a whopping eighty bucks for this package.  But for a tool that offers this kind of utility?  It might well be worth it.
