TV This Week: Party Premiere, Aliens, and America

By Edit Posted in Entertainment, TV

This week brings us some exciting television viewing opportunities. Chock full of season and series premiere, finales, and fabulous specials, this week is sure to deliver some awesome options for your viewing pleasure.

The face of evil?

Untamed & Uncut – Animal Planet – Monday, April 19, 9 p.m. (ET)

This series frequently shows animal attacks, but this episode changes it up and features “surprise attacks” (apparently the others were premeditated). These attacks include a miniature horse attack…I expect the experience is equivalent to being mugged by a Care Bear.

Dhani Tackles the Globe – Travel Channel – Monday, April 19, 11 p.m. (ET)

Season 2 premiere. In this episode, Cincinnati Bengals’ linebacker Dhani Jones is biking the mountains of Italy. Luckily, he’s probably been biking before, so he’s re-cycling just in time for Earth Day.

Ancient Aliens – History Channel – Tuesday, April 20, 8 p.m. (ET)

Series premiere! Perhaps you’ve seen History Channel’s Ancient Aliens special…you should have, it was awesome. Thankfully, now it’s a series. This episode examines the evidence of ancient aliens (no, Joan Rivers will not appear).

Weird or What - Discovery Channel – Wednesday, April 21, 8 p.m. (ET)

Series premiere! This series examines strange phenomena. And we’re not talking about Snooki’s mysterious, gravity-defying up-do. The first episode will feature self-propelled rocks, severed feet, and killer ice storms. Hosted by William Shatner.

Green Collar Comedy Tour – Showtime – Thursday, April 22, 9 p.m. (ET)

An eco-conscious comedy show in honor of Earth Day. I’d make a joke, but I just don’t have the energy.

Party Down – Starz – Friday, April 23, 10 p.m. (ET)

Season 2 premiere! Henry is in charge of the catering company and needs to deal with rockers, Ron’s return, and relationship issues. One of the funniest shows on television.

Gravity – Starz – Friday, April 23, 10:30 p.m. (ET)

Series premiere! This comedy-drama focuses on people who had attempted suicide, and meet at a support group. I know whenever I think “comedy,” I think about suicide.

Mothman – Syfy – Saturday, April 24, 9 p.m. (ET)

Syfy has given us more original movies than you can shake a light saber at. This week, they bring us the Mothman.

Into the Universe With Stephen Hawking - Discovery Channel – Sunday, April 25, 9 p.m. (ET)

Series premiere. This series features theoretical physics superstar Stephen Hawking. In this episode, he discusses the likelihood of alien life. That’s extraterrestrials, not Mexicans.

TiVo Alert!

America The Story of Us – History Channel – Sunday, April 25, 9 p.m. (ET)

The first part of this 12-hour “event” focuses on rebels. Get to know your country the right way: by sitting on the couch, eating potato chips and letting the TV tell you what it knows.

What Your Girlfriend’s Watching

Romantically Challenged – ABC – Monday, April 19, 9:32 p.m. (ET)

Series premiere! Alyssa Milano stars as a newly single mom back on the dating scene. In this episode, she looks for a one-night stand. Girly sitcom for her, Alyssa Milano for you. It’s a good deal.

Project Runway - Lifetime – Thursday, April 22, 10 p.m. (ET)

This episode is the second part of the two-part season finale, marking the end of season 7. Heidi Klum will finally announce the winner. Will it be Emilio, Mila, or Seth Aaron? Curious? Go ahead: get your chiffon on.

Say Yes to the Dress – TLC – Friday, April 23, 9 p.m. (ET)

Season 5 premiere. Featuring a goth girl and a pageant queen hunting for the perfect dress. It’s girls, gowns, and gratuitous glitter.
